Fence for Horses

We are getting ready to put in the poles for the first pasture for the horses. Was wondering what type of fencing you would recommend and why?

I do not like bob wire for horses can get thier hair caught and can get cut up, but if you do use it make sure you have white rags posted where they can see it, as white will help them to not get hurt... once they learn there is a fence there, then they won't get hurt as much.
we used white iron fence, or either the strong close netting fence, and I'm sorry for not remember what kind it was, then we use wood post on top of that fence to protect them from getting injury.. If John was alive I could ask him what it was.. for he was the one that got it... my memory on some days is not so good these days..
hope some of that helps.
what kind of horses are you going to get?
If they are mini horses remember they can jump as well, so make the fence high enought....
any other questions feel free to ask.

My sons are getting the horses not me; we are just helping build the barn and do the fence(helping out where and when we can; just depends on how DH is doing on those days on what we actually get to do). But we run errands and pick up supplies real good! lol They are thinking of maybe adopting retired thoroughbreds. They are checking oiut several rescue places for horses. And then one of my DIL's is checking into places she used to ride and see if any of those horses are ready to retire and needing a new home. So right now the field is open on what tyoe of horses yet. One of the DILs has a degree in animal something (I don't remember exactly what). I may have other questions as time goes on, thanks for the help!
