Anyone use ECOT or OHDELA? Or any Virtual Classroom?

I am concidering both for my 8 year old and hoped to get some feedback from others using these programs.

I too am considering a virtual academy for my son this next school year. Here in Colorado we have a virtual charter school called COVA which is a K-12 academy and is totally state funded. I just viewed a demonstration of their program and it looks great. Do you know what curriculum the schools are using?

With Cova, they send us a computer, printer, pay for our internet access, and send out all items needed for the school year (consumables, nonconsumable texts and novels, even a dry erase board and chalkboard, math manipulatives, etc.).

Most of our work will be done on actual paper, reading books etc., there will be stuff to print from the website and sometimes we enter the # of correct answers, sometimes the kids test right on line, sometimes they test and we send written work in to the school. We are also required to enter in attendance and amt of time spent on subjects.

The nice thing for our family is that COVA keeps all records, you don't report as a homeschooling student because they are officially registered in a Charter school, but you still have the freedom to travel, work at you own pace (faster or slower), and give that undivided attention to your child.

Anyways, if anyone else has used a Virtual Academy, I'd love to hear pros and cons also!

I have sent in the paperwork for ECOT. It is a charter school in ohio. They use ChildU and Oddessy online work.

They send us a computer, printer, pay for part of our internet access, and workbooks.

Most of our work will be done online.

I am so excited! My DD really needs this to happen. She is not a typical learner and the school she is in will only teach one way. So unless her learning style changes then this is better. I can teach her in her style.
