We hate carpeting too. We have big area rugs (like Oriental) but when we're tired of them, up and in the trash. We have hard wood all through our house except the kitchen and bath, those are linoleum (sp?). With 3 dogs carpet is just not a good plan for us, too much dog hair. If I could train them to let me vacuum them, it would solve all my problems.

So sorry you had to sell your home and move....following your hubby's job? Looks like a mighty fine house! I love older homes.

Polaris - my DH's favorite!

Would they buy the house from you? Sometimes corporations do that?

Sheri the house is gorgeous! I love, love older homes. Unfortunately for me dh doesn't.

We've done the double mortgage thing a couple of times, including on the move up here. It's not fun so I sympathize.

Dh works for Georgia-Pacific and they buy homes but it has to be on the market for 90 days and the deal isn't as good as if you sold it. Still it would have been our back-up plan. Fortunately we sold our las thouse to the first couple who looked at it. We just had 2 mortgages until it closed.

No, Unfortunately they dont buy the houses... I think they might do it for employees in higher positions.
They do pay for the closing costs and the agents commission and stuff so that is a bonus.

It is just a waiting game!!!

Well right now we are in a rental house but when we get to our acreage, it is a 4 bdrm 1 1/2 storey house... it doesnt have the character that our other house has but it is cute and its on 40 acres and my dh drools over the huge heated shop outside

It just needs some paint and the main bathroom done.... and I cant wait to get out there!!!!! LOL

80 degrees... must be nice!! my weatherbug says 33!!!!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it is cold and windy here!!!! I had to turn the heat back on this morning
