Happy face faux trey ceiling

Hi There,
I'm new to posting and chat boards; so please bear with me. I am wondering if anyone out there has painted a faux trey ceiling. I know it can be done with two colors, but I'm not sure if I start with the lighter or darker color first. Can ya help me out?

Liza, the post was fine, I could read it fine, but I am sorry I don't know the answer to your question, I hope someone else does though, so I will be checking back!

Liza, try using some molding-- about 2 1/2 inch works nicely.. mark your ceiling with a light pencil first where you'd want your tray ceiling,, then paint from the wall to your mark 2 shades darker than your tray ceiling area choice, then paint the tray area, when all thats completly dry, put up your molding right on top of your pencil mark.. It looks very realistic when its all done.

pic of faux tray ceiling

this is just a flat 8 ft. ceiling with the molding. they didnt even do the 2 color painting.. Just the molding made a great statement in an otherwise plain room.
