My favorite is Halloween - in large part because it's my birthday - but sadly it also marks the beginning of November, when many people in my family have passed away.

Hello everyone! I have been very busy. I have my first solo show opening in just 2 wks. I have been trying to finish the artwork for that and I also had to get the supplies for the opening. I have to provide that, the table, the music and the food but hey, the gallery isn't charging me for anything so I'm not complaining. I am also distributing the Gallery's postcards as well as my own that I had made up in Spanish to restaurants and grocery stores. I have still have so much to do in these two weeks so that's whats going on with me. I got everything but the food at the dollar store for the opening.

I like of the holiday's...However, Halloween is at the top of my list!
I hated dressing-up in wigs as a child, and to a degree still can't stand the wigs, but love the "make-believe" part of the holiday!

Happy Birthday, Jane!!

Actually November 1st isn't the beginning of Fall - November is the last month of fall - September is the beginning of Fall months.

I love the fall of the year! I love to decorate the inside and out for fall. Mums, pumpkins, hay stalks, my awesome scarecrows and anything that has to do with the fall. Around Halloween I add some stuff for Halloween after Halloween I take Halloween things down and add my turkeys....so cute....I still have all the fall and turkeys out till the day after Thanksgiving....I do think Halloween/Thanksgiving are the best!!
For Christmas I decorate the bay window and porch.....when the kids were younger we had all the lawn decorations and lights all over......Too much work now!!! lol

My fave is Thanksgiving as I am very thankful
for all God has blessed me with
But Christmas is also important to me for Jesus being
born and love to decorate for both.

Halloween is a fun holiday and kicks off the holiday season. Love decorating and handing out the treats.

Thanksgiving is lots of baking and family gatherings (acquired family too), a time we reflect on our blessings and are grateful for what we have.

Christmas is suppose to be joyful with lights, cookies, family, friends and celebrations. Decorating and sharing love and joy.

Unfortunately for some of us it is also the hardest time of the year. We miss loved ones who are no longer here, seem to slide down the depression slope. Have never figured out how I can love all these holidays and still have bouts of depression. Don't know if it's the shorter days or what triggers the change in my chemistry, but glad my dd found these herbal capsules called "Happy Camper" they have Passion flower, Kava Kava, Eleuthero, Gotu Kola, Kola Nut, Wood Betony, & English Lavender. They seem to help a lot and you take only 2 a day (start out with 1 and see how it goes first). No St. John's Wort in them. I didn't want to be "medicated" to get through my favorite holidays, but wanted something natural which just help keep me from sliding, and so far these are working great. So if anyone else goes through this, you can find them at your health food store, like Whole Foods.
God Bless
