HAHAHA!! I assumed it was YOU Barbar and you chose Hannas name!

Dear Hanna,
I just started getting healthy in February. I have lost 11 pounds. I am doing good on the eating part but not so good on the exercise part. Can you give me some suggestions on getting better motivated?

hugs, train

Train,I am not fond of exercising either. Walking is the best exercise. After my back surgery I had to be able to walk 5 miles a day every day. Dr said I didn't have to do it all at the same time. I could go and walk several times a day. Anyway I walked the trail along Lake Michigan which was delightful. I was 68 yrs old at that time and I never walked that much in my life. But I did it and all at the same time. Left my car sit in a wayside, walked 2 1/2 miles, turned around and walked back. If I could do it, so can you.

Donna, Some tips I've learned to add more walking into your life is to park at the far end of the parking lot (daylight hours only!!) not up close to the doors. Walk around your house doing commercials or walk in place that will give you 15-20 min of activity per hour. Six 10 min bouts of exercise works the body the same as one 60 min so break it up, start with 12 5 min if necessary.

Since I have a fractured vertebra I'm only allowed "no impact" exercising listening to music helps me keep the speed up and not focus on the time to quit.

Interesting tip on the white chalk keeping silver tarnish free.

Train,
Like Roberta, I always park far from store in daylight and always walk the cart back in.
I hate exercise as well, but yard work really helps me.
Several years ago I bought a hula hoop! I do that to music in the basement so no one can see me. LOL
I also go down and dance up a storm by myself. Geesh, I am telling my secrets now.

First time I've seen this thread and it's a good one......Donna, hows the diet going? Lauri, I've got the floor peddler and I do use/like it.......
When I go on a diet I stay on it for 6 days on the 7th day I eat what ever I want then the next day I go back on the diet....This seems to work for me....

You can put the peddlers on a table and use them to give your arms a workout too.
