I was always told to put a couple of drops of warm mineral oil in the ear. I have never tried it personnally but I am told it works quite well.

We also use garlic-mullein oil. We found a premade jars of this at our local health foods store. Ds#1 used to get lots of ear infections and since we used this stuff on him, he has not had a single one.

This may be a bit too weird for most people but I thought it might be interresting. I do home assistance for the elderly and one of the ladies I cleaned for swore by rattle snake oil for earaches. She got it from the local pharmacist. We live in rattle snake country and there are several rattle snake hunts every year so I don't know if that's where they get the oil from or not. I know they milk the snakes for their venom. Hope you fnd this interresting.

That is interesting. I have heard lots of things that people use snake oil for but never for ear aches.

I wonder what native americans used for ear ache before they were socialized to white man's ways. I would think that the medicine man would have had some remidy. Anyone know anything about Indian medicine? It would be interesting to research that.

One other thing I remember my mother doing for me. she would warm a towel on the burner of the stove ( sometime it would get scorched ) That was so soothing. Something I still miss. I did it for my girls too.

May you have a love filled day.
