I just have one question. Has anyone had any experience with a "stone" in the bowel? I have to see a specialist (gyn), but was told by GP that this is what I have, and have never heard of such a thing?

I did not know that a Gyno specialized in the bowel area. I knew that you could get a stone in a kidney or bladder, but I never heard of one in the bowel. I never heard of gynos specializing in the bowel area.

I know, I thought that it was a bit peculiar. I am starting to lose faith in my doc, who is getting close to retirement. He isn't up on anything new, and always treats things the way he always has, does that make sense? If I have a backache, oh yeah, he says it's that rickety back. That sort of thing. This was a huge mystery to me tho, going to the gynocologist for this thing.

Good luck at the gyno. I think you are wise to get a second opinion and try something different and get better results.

You can get gallstones in the bowel. Your gp can refer you to have an xray, if it doesn't show up on xray then it will most probably show up on an ultra sound.
My gp thought I had them in my bowel when I had severe abdominal pain.
Keep at your gp, or even get a second opinion.
Hope it all goes well for you

Thanks everyone for your interest & care. I had a gallbladder removed a few years ago. Maybe my bod just keeps making "stones". I am very curious, but haven't heard yet when I am supposed to see the specialist. When I enquired, the dr said they had to send a letter ahead................???

I didn't know you could get a stone in the bowel. I too am surprised you are being sent to a gyno. I would have thought you would be sent to a gastroenterologist.
