Hep-c

Anyone here with Hepatitis-C? I have it & am about to be starting a 48-week treatment for it. I hear the treatment meds come with alot of bad side effects. If anyone knows anything about it, will you please post? Thank you.

My dh went thru the interferon treatment about 8 years ago. He is in still in complete remission. He took shots (that he gave himself) & pills. It was similar to a chemo. He was tired alot and did take a year off work. He also lost weight, so I would make him shakes, with ice cream and such with the Highest calories..lol, here i was reading labels to find the most fattening! Also we used lots of ensure and gatorade! If you have any other questions, or want to call me just email me and we can exchange info. my email is [email protected]

My brother-in-law has been going through treatments since early to mid last year, every Friday so he's whipped for the weekend. He has also lost weight. My sister keeps us in the dark about it all-officially we don't even know about his illness; but I know she knows that my mom has told us all. I wish she'd be more open about stuff like that-she wouldn't be so stressed if she would.
Nancy I'm glad to hear that your dh is in remission-I was told there was no cure, just treatment to keep it under control for awhile.
GroovyGranny4, I'll keep you in my prayers and pray that you'll go into remission also.

GG4-have you heard about a possible new treatment for Hep-C that could possibly cure it??? I've only heard a little about it and I guess it's still experimental for people who have done all the usual treatments. Ask your doctor about it.
BTW, my BIL is going to start the ball rolling to receive a kidney transplant because of Hep-C destroying his kidneys. Hopefully that goes through quickly-for his sake as well as my sisters.
keeping you in my prayers
