• Sometimes, I sound like a hypocondriac, but I also have lymphocytic interstitial pneumonia. It's a rare type of pneumonia, probably caused by chemo. It has basically wrecked my lungs. Can anyone point me to info., esp. re oxygen therapy?

    Thanks in advance.
  • I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. Have you been to a pulmonologist for your lung problems? If you are undergoing chemo, do you have a regular oncologist that could possibly refer you to a pulmonary specialist? It really sounds as though you need to see a specialist for this.

I have had many different forms of pneumonia over the years and my lungs are a mess because of it. I've had numerous biopsys because there is so much scarring in my lungs from the pneumonias they have to keep checking for cancer. One site that is pretty informative about oxygen therapy and also support is: COPD INTERNATIONAL

If they can't help you they can probably steer you in the direction of where you can find out more about oxygen therapy. Many of them are on oxygen therapy there.

I hope you are feeling better soon.
  • Thanks
I appreciate your reply. My GP keeps me in close contact with an oncologist & respiratory specialist. I have a prescription for oxygen therapy but I can't get funding for it provincially. I don't match their criteria. I use a borrowed concentrator at night.

Thanks for the web site tip.
