My husband was diagnosed with Type I in May 2002 (we'd only been married for a yr) His blood sugar went totally out of control; 2ndary result was the ketoacidosis. After him spending week in ICU with IVs, I think I lost a few patches of hair, I kid you not.

Pretty sure a lot of it had to do with diet and exercise. That usually is the leading cause of Diabetes. He's been doing quite well with the meds that he's taking; on small dose of Novalog and small amount of Lantus (24 hr).

If you did a test of glucose in blood without preparation and the result is 185 or more , or you did a test in uninformed whose result is 126 or more , then you have diabetes.


How treats the diabetes?
Diabetes type 1
The treatment requires a strict regime that it includes:
A special diet , Physical Activity, Glucose Tests in the home several times to the day,Daily insulin Injections.
Diabetes type 2
The treatment for the diabetes type 2 usually includes:
Control of the diet , Physical Activity,Glucose Tests in the home,Oral Medicine and/or insulin in some cases.
