Sitting here waiting, time seems to crawl by. We are waiting for the numbers to come up. Dh will be on blood thinners during this cancer fight. Hoping to go home.

When I was with my mother in the hospital, weeks at a time, she would sleep mostly, I would knit and watch the television a bit. I made many pairs of mittens during that time and they turned out to be Christmas gifts one year.

Hospitals are timeless, they are always lit, always awake, and always there.

I have spent many a nite in a hosp with a
loved one. When my dear Mom was in she was never
alone not for a minute. Two of us stayed therefore when
one needed to go potty or get food/drink there was still
someone to be with her whether she was alert or otherwise.
Those were long grueling days/nites but I would not have
wanted to do otherwise. She did not have cancer (one of the
few in my fam) but still was sick lady. Then in Oct of same
year (95) we did same thing when my dear Otto was in for
the last time and he did have cancer. Prayers continue for you
Bernice.

Things are looking better for dh. Thinking one more day...everything seems to blend together. I feel like we have are stuck, while the rest of the world goes on without us. Ds 's iPad helps at least I can get online.

YEp Bernice we are still here and thinking of all of us fighting one illness or another, you are not alone and except for the sore butt one gets sitting and waiting while another recovers and heals, time does seem to crawl by, until we get up, look in the mirror and see another grey hair!

Prayers being said here Bernice.

When my mom was in hospice, I slept on a cot in her room. Only left when I had to get something to eat. Went to the cafeteria and got something to go, took it back upstairs and let her know I was back. Sometimes she would tell me to eat in her room. Other times I ate in the waiting room. She had a brother that lived in the same city and he would come and visit. I was an only child so no sibs to help out.

Well, DH has 3 more Radiation and 1 more Chemo to go! Better times are in sight! I have to say, I am so exhausted, worried all the time, and just plain sick of cancer! I know anyone going through it or a loved one that is caring for someone with cancer knows exactly what I mean.

I am longing for the times, when we can pay our bills, enjoy the weather and most of all celebrate DS's last year of high school. DS has helped out so much. He is afraid to leave unless I am home.

DH has kept in good spirits, when we are around. He stays a lot in the bedroom and feigns sleep, so we won't know it is taking such a toll on him. I love this man! I am praying the Lord has heard our prayers and will take cancer from our lives!

My dh just went to a specialist to check out a spot on his scalp that his regular doctor never said anything about. He has always been an outdoor man wearing a hat so was surprised when it appeared on his scalp. Now that I have been cutting his hair and washing it noticed it right away.

The doctor took a biopsy last week. She called back and said it is squamous cell carcinoma which is cancer of the top layer of skin. Hopefully when we go back in a couple of weeks she can remove the cancerous part. He is a little down since he heard he has to go back and have more removed.
I am doing a good job cleaning and applying medicine and keeping it bandaged and clean. He has had a good life and is healthy so God only knows what will happen. Please keep him in your prayers.
