My neice had a "henna" party for her 13th birthday and they all got beautiful designs on their hands. It was really cool. I have heard it is also used for hair dye. Would love to learn more about it.

My dd's turned out great. I am not happy with mine. I used pale blonde and med brown. The brand I used said you can mix colors. I have red blond hair. I do not like it. May make a stop at Dollar General for regular hair color. I need to strip this out. Guess I could strip this out then try the blond henna since I have it.....

I love henna. I love the culture behind it, I love the smell (weird, I know), I love that it is plant based, and I love the designs. The only problem I have found is that no matter what I do, it always turns out a sort of light orange color on my half Asian skin. Basically it looks like I took orange highlighter and colored all over my hands... I have tried making it from scratch and tried using the pre-made kinds. I have also tried doing the lemon trick, and even left it on longer than the hours suggested. No luck.

I also died my hair once with henna when I was in middle school. It was perfect for the young teenager in me. I got to feel rebellious without having to be completely stuck with the color forever. Henna washes out after about a month or two
