I was 23 and had just finished my first year of teaching. I believe I cried. ( Then again, I cried a LOT that first year. LOL.)

Now if I asked my dh grandfather he would say, We were to poor to have grey hair we couldn't afford it, OR back then we moved so darn quick that grey hair could not catch us LOL !

I noticed the first one in my late 20's and my reaction was "Finally!" My mother had gorgeous prematurely gray hair - started getting them at 16 and was all gray at 30 and all white at 45.

Now that I'm officially an "old broad," I have a lot of gray, some white, and I like it. I've earned every bit of it! LOLOL!

Cheerio!

My husband has much more gray than I do, which really bothers him since I am a year older

There are things about getting older that bother me....gray hair is not one of them. I hope to gray as gracefully as Elizabeth has--look at the beautiful hair in her picture! We should all be so lucky.

I can't really remember when I found my first gray hair, but they don't bother me at all. My hair is kind of that non-descript color with lots of different colored strands so my gray isn't that noticeable. I tell my kids I have earned every gray hair I have from raising them!! LOL

Hmmm - Thanks, Barbszy! I really need to get a new picture taken and put up now that I have short hair! LOL! The gray shows much more!

Cheerio!

Last night I was at a meeting at church where I was the only one under 65. I was sitting next to a woman with beautiful, pure-white hair, and she said to me, "Can I pull out this gray hair?" as she yanked a bit on one of my grays.
She laughed at me when I said I didn't mind them.
But sheesh--why are you in my HAIR!?!?!
Has anyone else ever had people trying to pull their grays out for them?

I found mine last year at age 44.
It didn't bother me since most of my younger friends already had greys
