How many stores do you shop at during one shopping trip?

Do you shop at one store or more during your shopping trip?

Do you shop "loss leaders" only at certain stores?

We live about 20 minutes from town and only make 1 trip a week so it is usually a variety of stores depending on what we need. Usually at least 3-4 stores

Same for me! It depends on what my local grocery store has on sale. If it's worth it, I will drive to the next town and got to other stores.

My "main" grocery store has the best overall prices so I do most of my shopping there.

I do read the circulars for 2 other stores and decide if it's worth a trip to just pick up loss leaders.

  • What store is yours Barbszy? Just curious.
  • I generally go to the commissary BUT if they did not have something I needed/wanted will stop at either Wal-Mart or Farm Fresh or both before we get me back here.

I usually grocery shop once a week & go to several stores for the sales. They are all 5 mins from each other but about 25 mins from me. Meijer is the store that I find has the best prices on a regular basis besides Aldi.

Patti, I have shopped around and ShopRite has the best prices of all stores in my area. I go to Acme occasionally to "pick the deals" but that is ALL I will get as their prices are high. And I go to Wegmans about once a month to get specialty ingredients or bulk items. Their prices are not too bad so I don't mind shopping there for most things.

My kids' school sells "scrip" for Acme and Shop Rite so I wind up getting $4 back for every $100 in scrip I buy for either store. That $4 is directly applied to the next year's tuition bill. It's not much, but I'll take it!

Depends sometime stores compete on special for the same item sometimes not, so if it's a special I will go to 2 or 3 but saying that those stores are within 2 complexes and not much of a walk between. If it's cold items I take a big esky cooler bag and put cold items in there for safe keeping and try not to be to long.

I usually shop at one store for 90% of my groceries. I do check the sales for 2 other stores. I plan the trips so I can hit them all in one day.
