I forgot to keep track last month! Hopefully I will do better this month.

I am setting the goal at $500 for the month.

So far I have spent $72.87, so I have $422.13 left in the budget.

My budget does NOT include greeting cards, bird seed, medications (including OTC). It includes all food, "health and beauty" and cleaning supplies like laundry soap, dish soap, & household cleaners. I have 5 in my family--2 adults, 1 teen boy, 12 year old girl, and 6 year old boy.

Well to be honest I don't think its very realistic for me because I don't hardly ever make my goal but I am still making my goal for 500.00 for the month of October. This is for a family of 3 sometimes 4. It includes all food, otc medicines, health and beauty aides, canned dog food, and small items in the house or for school. It does not include eating out, bagged dog food, clothes or dh and ds hobbies.

Goal-500.00
Total to date-126.55
Coupon and store savings-4.48
Left to spend-373.45

Good luck to each of you this month. I hope we can all find some really good sales and coupons.

October-- My budget will be $1,000.00 this month. We have 4 1/2 adults in our house. I only count my 20 yr old son as 1/2 becuase he really eats breakfast here every day and not alot of dinners. Then we have the 2 teenager girls and hubby and I. We have a dog and cat. I count all food, paper products, cleaning supplies, animal food, and health and beauty. This month will also included the 1/2 of steer that we are getting this weekend to fill my freezer. This is a once a year expense. But saves me all year long.

Budget $1,000.00

Spent for 1/2 of steer $512.00
Left to spend $274.35

Hubby came back with our 1/2 steer. This price includes the price of the steer, feeding of the steer, butching and wrapping.

This is what we got

83lbs hamburger
heart and liver
4 london broil
7 (2 in pack) delmonico
10 minute steaks
4 rolled round roast
5 (2 in pack) cube steaks
5 stewed beef
8 soupbones--plus a large bag of them
3 (2 in pack) porterhouse steaks
3 (2 in pack) t-bone steak
7 sirloin steak
6 chuck roast
4 arm roast

We got a little less then the steer last year but this also was a $100.00 cheaper. Dh ordered another steer already. So that should be ready in the spring.

Wow, Charlotte, that is a LOT of beef! I bet it tastes great too.

I should really look into that (after saving up some money for it first!)

I miss fresh butchered beef. Shoot the cow on Thursday let it drain, cut it up on Saturday, put in plastic bags over wrapped with freezer paper and in the deep freezer that night. 6 months later is still fresher looking than what you buy in the store.
