Grocery Challenge February 2008

This continues our Grocery Budget Challenge. Any Family Corner member can participate.

To participate, just state how many are in your family, how much you plan to spend for the month, and what your budget includes (is it just food, or does it include things like cleaning supplies/paper products/pet needs/greeting cards/eating out). Then, keep track of what you spend and compare it to your plan.

Can you come in "under budget" for the month?

Subbing, but also wanted to put in this link in case anyone gets the Angel Food Ministries boxes.

I know that January is done, but it should update for February's box.

I am joining the Challenge for February. My budget this month is $306.18 (carrying over last month's balance of +56.18 under-budget). I live alone, but have 2 grandchildren that eat many of their meals with me 2 weeks out of the month. My budget includes paper products, cleaning supplies, and toiletries.

My budget is $300 for my family of 4 with 2 dogs and inlaws that eat with us once or twice a week. My total includes cleaning supplies, paper products and dog food.

I was able to come under budget $90 total for the past two months since I was using up the meat in the deep freeze. Still have some to use up but will be restocking it as sales happen in Feburary.

Shopping today for a few things but will be a bit higher as need dog food.

I tried and tried to post last night but my post would not go thru. Anyway, I am shooting for 500.00. This includes all food, cleaning, health and beauty products, canned dog food etc. It does not include eating out. This is for a family of 4 one of which isn't home much.

Since I went over budget for January, my goal is $500.00 for February. We are a family of four (2 teenagers!) and a chocolate lab named Cocoa. My budget includes food, cleaning supplies, health and beauty, dog food and eating out.

Good luck everyone!

Kathy

I am trying for $550- this month. School is back, no more grazing all day! The plan is to make more from scratch if I can. So far $57-00. We are eating a bit more healthily at the moment and that has a cost. It saves later in terms of medical bills etc!
I feed two adults, two teens, a dog and a few visitors. Let's see how we go.
Budget $550-00
This spend $ 57-00
Bal Remaining $493-00

Well, I started February with a trip to the grocer's! I spent $69.71 (which included a new cordless phone), which leaves me a balance of $236.47 for the rest of the month.
