vjumpstart, we don't have flouridated water here either, when the kids were little the doctor gave us a prescription for flouride and they got a little dropper bottle, once a day into the mouth was the dose, it might be less expensive?

barbszy....Want to congradulate you on the way you budget your grocery money. You make great meals and entertain too.
I miss shopping at Shoprite with all their great sales. Here in Florida the stores don't even give double coupons.
Think all you gals with families are doing a great job budgeting.
Enjoy reading your posts.

Thanks, Sueanne! I agree, ShopRite has excellent sales. The other markets in my area (Acme, PathMark and Wegmans) all have their good points, but their prices are generally higher. I do go to some of them occasionally to get things I can't get at ShopRite, but the bulk of my shopping is done there.

I used to buy fluoridated water in the gallon jugs as well. In our old house they had fluoridated water. Big DS, until he was almost 7, had that water in his baby formula and apple juice (I would buy frozen concentrate and mix it) as well as just plain water to drink. He has NO cavities. No accident, I'm sure. DD only lived there until she was 2 1/2, and we couldn't get fluoridated water at that point. Her teeth are a mess. Once I found the fluoridated water I did start buying it and used it for Luke when he was little.

Don't know if we could get that here. The Germans put flouride in their salt (but not iodine), but it is very expensive compaired to the Mortan's salt at the commissary. A case - 4 gallons - is just over $5.00 (just under for unfloridated), back in the states I could get water (reverse osmosis) for only $.25/gallon.

Goal for November: less than $450.00
Balance remaining to date: $302.88

11/10/07 Weis $77.84

New balance remaining $225.04

This was a decent shopping trip. Almost every item on the receipt showed some kind of discount, especially the turkey I got for 25 cents per pound. I got a 13.25 lb. turkey for $3.31, that alone was a savings of $9.81 over the regular price. Total savings on this trip were $31.13. Yea!
