Well ladies once again I am over. So far by almost 50.00. I just don't know why I can't do better about food. Its taking such a huge part of our income now. I will be having a lot of doctor bills coming up and I really need to tighten the belt. One good thing about keeping up with this is even though I am not where I need to be spending it at least helps you to be aware of whats going on and where to try to cut back. Good luck to the rest of you.

Jeandeanette, I am going to be over a bit this month as well. Is it me or have prices gone WAY up? I am spending $1 more a week just on milk, not to mention some other staples that seem to be higher.

I guess if things are just higher we can't do much about that other than refuse to waste what we do buy!

Prices have really gotten high $3.99 for 3 lbs of apples at the grocery was able to get 3 lbs for $1.99 at Aldi's today. I hope they are nice.

I'm under budget because we ate out so much the beginning of the month with MIL in the hospital so will use the last $100 to help cover the credit card bill.

Roberta, if the apples aren't so good use them in cooking and just cook some up. Stewed apples make a great topping for breakfast cereal, just as a dessert with or without ice cream and added to a cake or muffins.

Meg..when I get to the end of a bag of apples..and they start getting soft or wrinkly..I just put them in the microwave and cook them until soft..I also like them with ice cream..or if I don't have any I just sprinkle cinnamon over them...yummy and they aren't wasted...see..our great minds are in sync...lol...

I went grocery shopping the other night and spent $150.00. That brings the total spent to $417.00. I have a balance of $83.00. I think I may actually make it this month!

I have been VERY, VERY careful about using up everything I buy. I don't think I threw a single thing out this month. It has taken a lot more planning, time and effort, but it has definitely paid off. I was able to lower my goal from last month by $100.00 and not go over it.
