What a sweetie you are, Barb. Since I'm not working outside the home here yet, I'm very much aware of the all the money going out. We've had some unexpected repair expenses on our new home, and since I'm not adding to the checkbook, I only see the money going out.

You're absolutely right -- I spent next to nothing on groceries for the several months before I moved. I only bought perishables and tried to use what I had in the pantry and freezer. (That all seems like ancient history, though.)

Thanks for reminding me. I feel much better now.

Thanks Tami for fixing my post. I really appreciate it. Hard to believe that this is the last day of June. Seems like my kids summer vacation goes by so fast. I hope all of us do a great job on our groceries this new month.

I'm going to keep my budget at $300 for my family of 4, 2 dogs, and 2 inlaws that eat several times with us.

Will try to shop more at SaveALot and Aldi's.

I'm setting my July budget at $450. This includes food, paper goods, and cleaning supplies for my family of 5 (1 teenage boy!) It also includes a bag of birdseed about once a week, but NOT greeting cards.

I am going to try this again this month. I started off so well in June, but things went completely awry. I had a goal of $600 in June for food, health & beauty, and cleaning supplies for my family of four plus one Chocolate Lab and one pet mouse! I spent $200 at the store Saturday (which was still June!) and REALLY stocked up on the basics. I am going to try for $500.00 this month. Wish me luck!

Well, part of this month we have been camping with family. So, it'll be difficult to set an amount. However, I bought a ton of chicken in one package and then cooked them all over our campfire. I used some in a casserole and the rest we are using in quesadillas.

Well, here we go for July. I'm hoping to do better than my $554 spent in June. So far, I've spent $79.28, so that leaves $474.72 for the month.
