Made a Sam's run for my meds and spent about $100 on actual foods . Actually spent $195.84 but my meds were $50. and my dh was along so the rest was non food or house items for him. So far I've spent about $262.00 this month on food and cleaning supplies. Have to get dog foood this weekend.

I checked my receipt and since there's a local promotion tracking how much you spend, I see that I've spent $123 so far this month.

Tomorrow, DS and I will be making a Sam's run ourselves to restock our freezer, so that won't be cheap, but it sure will be nice to have some reserves to call upon again. Cleaned out the freezer before we moved and have been careful about what I'm putting in there so as not to get too ahead of myself.

Well ladies I have failed my grocery challenge. I am feeling pretty bad about it. I just can't seem to feed my family cheaply. I had 67.02 left for the month and yesterday I went over.

17.49-FC
67.23-WM
Total-84.72

Goal was 400.00
Went over so far by-17.70

The month is only half done so hard to tell how much more I will go over. I sure wish I could figure out a way to do better. If we were eating name brand all the time and steak or other expensive meat all the time I could understand but we are not. WM has raised their brand of milk by 31 cents a gallon. Oh well I guess I will just keep trying.

Jeandeanette, don't be so hard on yourself. We all just try to do the best we can, and with food prices continuing to rise, and with the cost of all the fresh fruit now in season, it's really hard to economize any more than we all try regularly to do! Just think what you would have spent had you not been actively conscious of what you were spending -- all we can do is continue to do the best we can!

I've spent $397.57 so far but my freezer is full so I have not had to buy meat. I also set my goal at $600.00 .Jeandeanette you have growing boys and they are always in need of food. Don't be so hard on your self, just keep trying. Maybe by keeping track you will be able to see where it is going and that always helps. Kroger has their $$ sale so I will stock up Mon or Tuesday.
