Count me in on this too! I've just noticed this thread ...but I haven't bought anything as yet in June food wise. My budget will be 200 a month for 2 adults and this will include groceries, household items and toiletries.

I am going to menu plan this month so that I have the right ingredients in the right amounts as I am so fed up with the amount of food I waste.

Sweet pea, thats great you make so much from scratch. I need to start doing more of that. I'm sure it helps with the food cost.

I am joining in. We are wasting too much food. I am feeling overwhelmed with this so my first line of defense is make menus for the week, with what I have on hand.

Yesterday I spent $19.00 at the $$ store but that should last a few months and today I spent $46.00 on blocks of cheese. They were on sale for $10.39 a 5 lb block. I can freeze parts of them for furure use. This week should only have to be milk, fruit and lunchmeat.
Jewel-
June -2-$97.00
June 4-$19.00
June 5-$46.00
That leaves me $438.00 for the month
I'm going to make some menus up right now

Just got back from my monthly grocery shop---I buy the bulk of my groceries on 10% off Tuesday. Now I should be set except for milk and a bit of fruit/veggies.

Total budget: 550.00
June 1: 4.79 (4.79)
June 5: 461.44 (466.23)
Left to use: 83.77

Could be cutting it close!

June Grocery Challenge

June Grocery Challenge?
I will not go to store until the 9th..When I do go I get where I can make doubles and triples and then freeze what I dont used ...That gives me another meal...Like sauces, which is homemade, noodles, let dry real good and then put in gallon baggies ,then freeze...plus alot more stuff.......

Good morning all!!

I am basically by myself with a cat, except for Sundays, when I feed my bf, and the occasional drop-in by my nephew. The other night I fed bf and nephew, the next night I fed nephew and the kid who mows the lawn.

Anyway, I try for somewhere between $150.00 and $200.00 and that includes paper products, health and beauty aids, etc.

6/2 I spent $61.00. That included extras that were on sale and were frozen (10 individually packaged portions of salmon, and a family size package of chicken thighs). This coming week, I will look for just fruit, veggies, milk and bread.

Well ladies, better go for now.

Take care all!! Norma

I've just completed my internet grocery shop and it's totalled 103.57. This includes a large box of washing powder and enough meat to last for at least two weeks. Next week I should only need to stock up on milk and eggs.
