Need gift ideas.

There are twin boys at church who will be graduating from high school in June. Their family has gone to church with us for several years. They also have a large extended family. Are gift cards or money appropriate to give and if so, how much?

Are they going to college?
I would say yes to gift cards. Amount depends on how well you know them.
My nephew Richard got a microwave and some dishes, silverware, dish liquid and dish towels from us, cost $100, when my nephew Ryan graduated, we gave him $100.
The children of really good friends each got a nice crisp $50 Bill.

The children of very good friends got

We have known them for several years and my husband has given them rides to church many times. We are both retired and on a very limited income so $50 a piece would be a strain on our budget. I know one twin wants to become a computer tech for schools and is going to go to a nearby junior college first. I am not sure of the other twins plans.

A gift card to Walmart for $20 goes a long way

I would also go with Walmart which could be used for gas, school supplies, food, clothes, etc.

I gave dd1's friends a card and $10 Pizza Hut gc that I was able to get with points so only cost me the card when they all graduated last year. I think it is more the thought then the amount.

Kids around here like gift cards for iTunes and a very popular item to give college bound grads is a laundry bag, detergent, softener, stain remover. Plus it helps the parents out too. I wondered about a laundry basket but was told if the kids live in a dorm there is extremely limited space so no to the basket, only the bag.

Bed Bath and Beyond is nice too, put in some 20% off one item coupons to sweeten the deal

Thanks for all the suggestions. Since it is twin boys I think that I will stick with either Walmart gift cards or cash and let closer family get them the other items. I am going to try to make the greeting cards so they will be unique.
