Graduation Caps

A fabulous idea for preschool or Kindergarten graduations! Easy to put together and children are proud to wear them and move on in style.

You need:

Plastic or Paper Bowl
8" x 8" Matching Card Stock
Yarn
Scissors
Glue
Tape

Instructions:

Check bowl for fit on child's head. We trimmed off the rim.

Turn the bowl upside down and glue the square of card stock on what used to be the bottom of the bowl. Adult should use a scissors to poke a small whole through the middle of the card stock and bowl.

To Make the Tassel

Wrap yarn several times around three fingers. Leave about a foot of yarn on one end. Remove from fingers and pinch together at that end.

Use another piece of yarn to wrap pinched strands together. Tie off. Cut open loops on other side.

Push long piece of yarn through a hole punched in the top. Tape on the inside to hold in place.

This is such a cute project! Im going to ask my son's teacher if she is planning on anything like this for the end of the year.

Im sure there is somewhere online that you could print a diploma too.

Preschool/Kindergarten Graduation Ideas

Fun Foods for the Little Graduate

Mini Cupcake Mortarboards

1 package Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® cake mix (any non-swirl flavor)
Water, oil and eggs called for on cake mix package
Tassels (below)
1 tub Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy vanilla ready-to-spread frosting
Food colors
60 square shortbread cookies, from two 10-ounce packages
60 candy-coated chocolate or fruit-flavored candies

1. Heat oven to 350ºF. Line 24 mini muffin cups, 1 3/4x1 inch, with mini paper baking cups. Make cake mix as directed on package, using water, oil and eggs. Fill cups 2/3 full of batter (about 1 rounded tablespoon each). Refrigerate remaining batter.
2. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; cool. Repeat with remaining batter. (Leave paper baking cups on cupcakes so mortarboards are quicker and easier to make and more portable to serve.)
3. Make Tassels*(directions below). Tint frosting with food color to match paper baking cups. Frost bottoms of cookies. Place 1 candy on center of each. For each mortarboard, place small dollop of frosting on bottom of cupcake; top with cookie. Press uncut end of fruit snack or 3 or 4 pieces of licorice into frosted cookie next to candy. Store loosely covered.

*Tassels

Betty Crocker® Fruit by the Foot® chewy fruit snack rolls (any flavor) or shoestring licorice

Cut sixty 2 1/2-inch lengths from fruit snack rolls. Cut each into several strips up to 1/2 inch from 1 end. Roll uncut end between fingertips to make tassels. Or cut several pieces of shoestring licorice into 2 1/2-inch lengths.

Greeting Cakes!

Why not have the children decorate their own greeting cakes that say happy Graduation or something like that! Sent to them by a parent, grand parent, the teacher of the class etc...
