Question Free Government Grant Money???

For lack of a better place to start this thread--I chose here--didn't see anything else that came close to what I needed

I wondering if anyone out there has had any dealings with the advertised "free government grant money" know the guy with the crazy look in a jacket covered with question marks....Matthew Lesko.

I'm wonder if they really do work. I've heard of folks with zillions of dollars that do give away money as tax write offs etc. Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of someone really getting any money.

Someone I knew got a full scholarship to college for 4 yrs on a disablitiy grant--she was too short to be a flight attendent--she was about 4'8"--she never wanted to be a flight attendent--she went to school for journalism where does it state that you have to be a certain height to be a writer????

Hi Kim!! Long time, no see!! How are you?

My Mom's boss works with a lot of grants. I will ask my Mom to ask her boss about it. If she doesnt know anything about it, maybe she will know someone for you to contact. She works in Aliquippa so hopefully the info will be in your neck of the woods.

Welcome Back... I've missed seeing you here.

I don't know this guy haven't seen the ads but as I learned in the telemarketing business... if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Buyer Beware.

I would be skeptical also. I remember several years ago that the government had problems with people not paying back college loans. This sounds like a scam.

Free Government Grant Money

I always hear where people do get money for college and starting businesses. Guess some of it must be true. Worth doing a study on it might work out.

From what I have been able to find out, the idea that the govenment gives grants is a scam, other than the well publisized Pell Grants.

Not necessarily. There are other grants available. It is some work to get them and it is tricky to qualify. I recommend requesting the book from the library. They might have it or they could get it through interlibrary loan. Some of the gov't programs do help with down payments for homes and many other things. The programs he talked up in the commercials about money for daily living expenses are things like heating assistance, welfare, AFDC, Foodstamps/Foodshare and so on.

These programs are legit, and they do help if you need the money, but the money is NOT thousands and thousands of dollars to any one person at a time to do what you want. They are all conditional. If you go to the firstgov website (put "FIRSTGOV" into google or whatever search engine) there should be links to walk you through a series of questions to see what gov't assistance you may be eligible for. I would recommend AGAINST buying the book, but you could look it up @ your library.
