Earning Extra Money From Home

I currently work full-time, but am looking for a way to make some extra money (hoping to buy a home soon, and extra money would be helpful!). I've tried Avon in the past, but around here, everyone does that, I'd like to do something "new and different".

I would prefer to do something from home as opposed to getting a part time job in retail, only because I travel for my current job and have different hours each day.

I'd be willing to try a direct marketing company, one that everyone isn't doing. I've also been thinking of attempting to start an organizing business---I love to organize and I know I'd be good at it, but I'm scared to take that first step!

I was wondering if anyone works from home or if you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks

Gina, if you look in the right-hand sidebar you will see some work-from-home opportunities. It's under the heading "PARTNERS."

Gina, two companies worth checking into are Mary Kay (cosmetics) and Melaleuca (health, home, cosmetics). I've known successful folks in both of those, and am considering Melaleuca myself.

Best wishes deciding from the many, many opportunities, to find the one best for you!

Blessings,

Thank you! I'm going to check these out. I have a few links saved in my "Bookmarks"--just need a few minutes to read thru all of them and see if they sound promising or like scams! I'm putting that on my to-do list for the weekend!

Whatever you do keep in mind if a company wants you to pay to work don't do it. I work from home and it's how I make my living and I've heard so many horror stories of people paying to work from home and making no money. I personally don't believe you should have to pay to work.

Right, I want to make money at home, not have to pay someone to hopefully earn money.

Most direct sales companies have a small start up fee for your sales kit. Avon is $10, Marykay I've heard is $100 and up depending on the kit, etc.

$1000 a week for stuffing envelopes in your home is of course a scam.

It's funny how I've been thinking of trying to do something from home and I get an email a little while ago from a district manager from Avon. I used to sell Avon a while ago and now I get the email with the subject "Come back to Avon". I wonder if this is a sign??

Spending money to make money!

I would be careful. Do your research. Most every company will cost to get started. Mostly because if they send a free business kit to everyone that asked and then changed their mind, they would be out of business. But you have to be careful. There are a lot of scams out there. Some are obvious some are not. Sometimes it is just a matter of doing a search using the companies name and you will find postings good and bad.
