Black widow spiders.

We just moved into our new home.
Been renting for some time.
so you can imagine the excitement.
but spotted a black widow spider. Freaking out because
spiders are my worst.
Any ideas on how to get rid of them.

We are seeing lots of brown recluse this year. I went on the web (no pun intended) & did a search. Some of the better sites are universities. There is nothing that I know of that is 100%. If you have the money, I would go with a good exterminator. Ask neighbors about who they recomend since it is probably an new neighborhood for you. After the extermination, I would check into those electronic thingies you plug into an outlet. Get ones that specifically say they work on spiders & get one for the recomended size of the room, one for each room, etc. If you want to go the natural route, I think the osage orange is supposed to work on spiders. That's all I can think of for now.

I have them on my property, too. Haven't seen any inside, but when I spot one outside...she gets a blast of Raid, and then the egg sacs get crushed. (They look like round spiked balls- cream colored) I've never had them become an actual nusiance...they just don't get a chance to be. Bett
