Pronunciations

We all know kids say the funniest things. Just wondering what some of the funny words are that your kids come up with when trying to pronounce words.

For instance, my 4 year old says he wants a HAN GA BUR instead of a hamburger--every time. He also does the pssgetti for spaghetti thing. And anything with a th is an F like fumb from thumb and fing for thing. Hopefully he'll outgrow that one.

funny procunciations

my 8 year old girl was telling me all about her science project. She was using her hands while she was talking very sophisticated like. Then she says and over here I am going to write my "hypopasus". It was so cute I didnt correct her.

pronounciations

My DD says everything with a "d" sound in the begining.

for instance.... "thing" is now "ding". and "finger" is now "dinger". She has an especially hard time saying the "f" sounds well. And we haven't even started with the "th" sounds yet. (DD is 3 1/2 yrs.)

it's hard to expect people to understand what she is saying, and it gets frustrating for her when everyone looks to me to be translator.

Nobody had to translate this though.... The other day, she was trying to get her Papa out of a chair. She wanted something from the kitchen, and she wanted him to help her get it. So she came up to him, grabbed his hand, found his pointer finger and said...

"Papa, I'm pulling your dinger. Now get up and help me!"

I was a little embarrased, but everyone knew what she was really saying, it was quite obvoius.

My DS is just learning to say a few words. He's 15 months. He says stuff like "plop", "boom", "splat", "boo", and "here" (when he's giving you something). And he's learning small phrases (it all runs together, but if you're quick you can catch it), like : "tag-you're-it!" (then better watch out, he "tags" pretty hard!), and "wuboo" (love you).

It's always interesting to see what will come out, when kids go to say something.
