Just what I get for teaching him to read!!

Ds1 is in Kindergarten and learning to read. Which is great, and we've been practicing a lot. Except when he was reading aloud the commercial on tv--I don't know what it was for, but it began with"What the h**l..." which was as far as he got before dh was freaking out. I was cracking up, explaining that he was reading the tv screen and was not to be disciplined. I simply told ds1 that that is a "grown-up word" and he's not supposed to say it.

Btw--hubby has been much more careful about what he watches when the kids are in the room!!

I can't remember what show it was on TV last night, but the language on it was surprising. We don't watch much regular TV and thank goodness the grandkids weren't here. They were saying son of a _ _ _ _ _ ! Over and over!

My grand daughter gets to sit in front of the TV at the other grandparents house the entire time she is awake; who knows what she is going to start repeating!

We Welcome Strays

When I was young we used to go "skinny dipping"; now we just "chunky dunk"

“The value of doing something does not lie in the ease or difficulty, the probability or improbability of its achievement, but in the vision, the plan, the determination and the perseverance, the effort and the struggle which go into the project. Life is enriched by aspiration and effort, rather than by acquisition and accumulation.”
