Lightbulb Abundant Oranges

How about making CANDLES!!

It's very easy. Use melted parafin wax. Put into a mold such as a cut out small milk or juice box (maybe quart size or bigger). Suspend the wick (easily found in a craft store!) with a pencil laid across the top. Pour in the wax and add your orange slices and any other pretty item to match, maybe a few leaves or twigs or lemon slices.

Lemonade with limes and oranges is very good!

chuckle Drum roll please..................

the recipe you have been waiting for...........

Drunken Oranges (or Soused Orange Slices)

2 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 - 2" cinnamon stick
4 whole allspice
2/3 c. orange flavored liqueur
6 oranges, peeled and sliced

In med. saucepan, combine water, sugar; heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Add cinnamon stick and allspice. Boil, uncovered, until mixture is reduced to 1 cup. Cool slightly. Add liqueur; mix well. Transfer mixture to a bowl. Add orange slices. Cover. Refrigerate 5 hours or overnight. Yield: 6-8 servings

**I slice them about 1/2 " thick. Need to marinate at least 5 hours. They keep very well in frig. Great for holidays. After we eat the initial oranges from brine, we just slice up somemore and add and marinate! They don't last long. Everyone I've ever introduced them to loved them.

If anyone tries them, let me know what you think!
