Anna try a potato masher. Works great for OJ.

I am getting my stock of groceries built back up. Makes me feel so good.

I have a potato masher and you mean frozen orange juice right? I hadn't thought about that. We buy the premade in the cans for emergency stock. I already had to dip into one of those as I forgot to buy OJ last week, had 1 bottle in the frig. but not 2 that we usually buy so it was nice when the weather was bitter cold not to have run out to the store to get it.

A fun newsletter is www.almanac.com. It is the Old Farmers Almanac on line.

They have interesting stuff in it. Today they showed the weather predictions for the next 2 months.

Loved reading this thread!

For a larger family like ours, surviving more than a handful of days would be a nightmare.

Yes, we could definitely survive well over 30 days. 2 full freezers, plenty of pasta, rice, and dried beans. Lots of home canned from last year still. Garden is about to start for fresh stuff.
We now have a whole house generator, that would provide power.
