Once a month our neighborhood elementary school has a Tuesday night at CiCi's and gets a percentage of the receipts from 5 to 9 pm. We also do the specials on pizza hut on line to get the most for our money. Usually enough to feed 4 for 3-4 meals for 15 dollars.

There are some fast food places around with cheap eats. Wendy's and McDonald's have dollar menus. If you drive through, and get drinks at home (or bring them to the mall, or bring them in the car from home) most people can eat for $2-3 each. Taco Bueno has mexi-dips (make your own nachos) for $2 also. None of it's healthy (well maybe Wendy's 99 cent chili qualifies) but it's good for the fast food fix at times!

Our mall has a dozen expensive choices, costs as much as some sit-down dinners. dawny

How do you do that? Do you have to order online too? Please tell your secret!

Yes, you actually order online. Go to the specials and pick whatever suits your fancy. We usually get something like the 2 medium or large one toppings and sometimes an order of cheese bread. Cheese bread brings it up a little. Papa Johns also has online ordering. We just got a large, with cheese bread, and a cinnamon dessert pizza for $14. But it is gone with one meal. And not nearly as good.

Y'all have me so hungry I could eat anything right now!! My DD works at a hospital that all of us have been in. A few years ago they remodled the cafeteria and when I have a Dr.'s appointment or want to meet my DD there when her shift is over, I'll eat there and then go in the gift shop and look around then go up to her office and wait till she's finished with her patients! I have an elder advantage card and I walk around to see what's the best looking thing for that day. It's like a mall inside a hospital!! I could eat there everyday and never get tired of their food. And anyone who's on a heart healthly diet can order from that menu too. I like that place better than some restaurants I've been in!

On Thursday's in the town I work at you can get a chicken strip meal from KFC for $1.99. The meal includes 3 chicken strips, mashed potatos and gravy, cole slaw and a biscuit. DH and I can eat for well under $5.

Wow--that's good for KFC!! It kills me how much they charge for stuff! But I'd kill for their Extra Crispy chicken!

Living in such a small town has really put the kabosh on eating out a lot--though we do actually have a decent selection of resteraunts!! There's two sit-down places, a sub shop, a McDonald's, an A&W, and a couple of pizza places. But I've noticed that none of them ever have any decent specials, and that all of them are more pricey than the ones "in the city". They really know when they've got you over a barrel lol!! Though the one place is cheaper than fast food and tastes better, to boot!!

These days, I usually just grab a "meal" and split it between the dk's and myself. There's plenty of food, and we supply our own drinks, or split one. And I don't look like a cheapskate, either. The waitstaff actually asks if you'd like a plate for the kids, or if you'll order seperately for them lol!

Mrs Maniac I love their original recipe. MMMmMMMMmmMMMmm

We live in a small town too (15,000) but we have an abundance of fast food , Taco Bell, KFC, Windy's 2 each BK, Hardees and Mc D's! and a Texas Steak House with Ruby Tuesday just across the street. We also have local owned type places and 5 (!) Chinese restaurants though none very good. Oh we also have a Ryans. Why so many places for such a small town? Because we are right on I-95 so get tons of traffic through. Oh and we're getting a new Arbies due to the new Wal Mart Super Center opening in a couple of weeks.

The other day KFC had a chicken fried steak dinner for $1.99 as well I bet you can guess what I had for lunch. By the way KFC is right across the street from the work. LOL

Cheap eats - Sometimes we grab an 8 piece of chicken from the grocery deli and supplement it at home with mashed potatoes/rolls. It's under $10 normally, but we wait until it's on special for $5.

Movies are few and far between when it comes to going to the theater. I usually only go if we have free movie passes from mail in offers. Otherwise we treat ourselves a couple times a year to an early show so tickets are $5 each instead of $7. Usually we went, maybe a couple a month. I do check out a lot from our library-I love free!
