Recipe for Light & Fluffy Icing?

"I loath the taste of buttercream icing and I prefer the taste
of whipped cream icing. At the supermarket they have an
icing called light and fluffy. It tastes like stablized whipped
cream but it isn't. When I called to get the recipe they told
me that they got it through a manufacturer and that it was
for commercial use only....however, I would love to get
that recipe...any idea's?"

French Cream Frosting


3 1/2 tbls.flour
3/4 cup milk
1/2 stick margarine
3/4 cup shortening
1/8 tsp.salt
1 1/4 tsp.vanilla
3/4 cup sugar
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Mix flour & milk together into a paste.
Cook paste until thick & then set aside to cool.
Put margarine & shortening into a bowl,cream well.
Add salt,sugar & beat until fluffy.
Mix the paste into fluffy mixture & beat with mixer until it stands in good soft peaks. Add vanilla and beat til blended.Refrigerate 20 minutes before using.


I have tried this and its pretty good! I am not big on icing unless its homemade!
This recipe came from my PA. Grange cookbook..

Cake Frosting

2 Cups Crisco 1 teaspoon white vanilla
1 egg white 2 lbs powdered sugar
1/2 cup milk


Mix well with electric mixer and keep in refrigerator. It can be colored any color.

Marshmallow frosting

Hi I found 1 recipe for you...this may not be the one you are looking for This is like a 7 minute frosting with marshmallows added in.


Ingredients
2 egg whites
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/3 cup cold water
1 1/2 teaspoons light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup miniature marshmallows


Directions
1 Put egg whites, sugar, water and syrup in top of double boiler. Beat until mixed well. Place over rapidly boiling water. Beat constantly with electric beater while it cooks for 7 minutes or until it will stand in peaks when beater is raised. Remove from heat.
2 Stir in marshmallows and vanilla. Beat until they melt.

I love cakes with whipped cream icing, but I don't have any idea how to make it. I hope someone comes up with the recipe. I usually have them put that kind on the cakes that I have made.

Frosting

I use an 8oz container of Cool-Whip and add a box of sugar free pudding mix( favor of your choice) plus 1/4 C of milk or cream.

The Only icing I ever make!

This is unbelievably easy and tastes just like whipped cream. - It just keeps longer!

Whipped Cream Frosting
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
2 Tablespoons milk
2-3 Tablespoons boiling water
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract

Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract. In one step add boiling water. (-takes away the powdery feel of the cornstarch in the icing sugar.) Can add milk, or if icing still tastes powdery I add another 2 Tablespoons of boiling water instead. Can add coloring or different flavoring. Keeps indefinitely. (Don't add too much liquid.)

Don't eat too much! It has more fat than whipping cream!

Whipped Cream Icing

Thanks for the recipes. I really like that whipped creme tasting frosting, but didn't know how to make it.

Packages of Dream Whip have a "Fluffy Frosting" Recipe:

1-1/2 Cups Cold Milk
1 Envelope DREAM WHIP Whipped Topping Mix
1 Pkg. (4-serving size) Jell-O Instant Pudding & Pie Filling

Blend on low speed. Beat on high speed 4-6 minutes or until mixture forms soft peaks.

I recently made this using Pistachio Pudding. It was awesome!
