blushing Surprising a Friend

I have not seen my best friend in 3 years. Last year we had planned a "girl weekend" and she backed out at the last minute because of some personal issues. I was very disappointed and felt that I put more effort into trying to maintain our friendship over the years and distance and continually ended up saddened by her lack of effort. I express this to her and we went through a rough time emotionally trying to reconnect. We have decided to continue our friendship and try hard to get it back to those blissful years.

Consequently, I have decided to make the 1st move and have planned a surprise visit to her home & family - along with her husband's help. I would really like to do something memorable upon my arrival to make her feel special and have a lasting memory of my surprise rekindling of friendship.

Has anyone ever done something similar? What suggestions do you have for the "grand entry surprise" and maybe a small gift to show her what she means to me?

Thanks for helping me make this a really special surprise.
