Water

And here we go again as to why we should always keep a good supply of drinking water. While this doesn't affect my area, it very well could have. Columbus is learning from the past and from our neighbors what to do in a emergency situation have to give them kudos but we need to prepare ourself's and not be dependent on the city to provide for our needs in a emergency. I still need to work more on this but it's never far from my mind.

Nitrate Advisory Could Last Several Days, Weeks | WBNS-10TV Columbus, Ohio

It says here boiling the water won't help get rid of the nitrates nor will a pitcher with a filter.

Off now to fill up more water. While it doesn't affect my area, it does affect my husbands area where he works as well as my boss and the factory where my co workers work. This particular warning is only for pregnant women and babies but just think if it was something more toxic.

Keep not only water but paper or styrofoam plates, cups, plastic silverware.. so that you aren't using your precious water supply for washing dishes.

It also said it was safe for pets.. I wouldn't trust it with my precious babies.

Sometimes I wonder to myself if people actually realize how important our water is, because when I see how careless society is nowadays in regards to managing our water supplies and overseeing water-table safety, it seems people are under the impression that our world has an endless supply of water that will always be there for us and always be safe and clean.

As a British Columbian, I cringe to know that large water parks, water features, and pools across the US have been drained and not refilled in a long time, account the water woes you are under. It's a stark reminder of how critical the water problem has grown.

Grand Lake St Marys has been battling water issues for years caused by farmland water run off leaving phosphorous and nitrogen in the waters.

I really don't think people think about dumping and leaving trash around.

If you can't drink or swim in the water then you shouldn't been eating the fish, etc either.

The Toledo area has had at least 2 cases of when they couldn't use local water for several days at a time in 2016 and had to truck water in to them.
