Pompeian Olive Oil

Jeannie,

Thanks for all the great info on olive oil!

2 liters of Extra Virgin Pompeian is what my husband brought home from the Wal-Mart Super Center. The cost was .15/oz not $1/oz though. It came in a clear plastic bottle. Wish I hadn't opened it or I'd return it for a smaller size. I did as you suggested and put it in a glass jar (covered in a dark bag) in the refrigerator. I had read somewhere that olive oil should be stored between 58F and 73F, not refrigerated. But as my home is always kept at 80, I figure it stands a better chance of lasting longer in the fridge!

I appreciate all the wonderful tips about olive oil you posted!

The refrigerator is better than a warm room. The olive oil will cloud up.... but that's ok.. it'll return to clear once it comes up to room temp. You don't need a bag in the refrigerator unless the light in your refrigerator stays on all the time. *hehee*

Like I said, olive oil is like wine in a lot of ways. There are times that even the most commercial brands taste great. Sometimes a bottle of Gallo wine tastes as good or better than a more expensive brand of the same type. It's all in the harvest, the soil, the weather conditions, etc etc.

Buon Pranzo! *s*

*Big Grin* How would anyone know if it stays on?

(rhetorical question!)

First off, thanks Shawn for giving that site that Sueann put there telling all about olive oil. I found it very educational and I appreciate it very much! Thanks again.

Jeannie, I went to my favorite grocery to buy my food and I found a small bottle of Boscoli Family Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I like it. When I run out, I'll try another one. Thanks for all the help you gave me.

Happy Puppy, I hope you'll find one or so that you'll like. I'm going to make it a game. Tomorrow I'll going to panne' veal in the olive oil I just bought and see how it makes it taste! I'll let y'all know.
