looking for salsa recipe to can
good morning! I am going to be visiting my parents this weekend and they have a friend (single male) who has a garden full of tomatoes/onions/jalapenos, but doesn't really want to spend all day in the kitchen making salsa. He will share the results with whoever will can it for him SO I am planning to spend a fair amount of my weekend canning salsa. My mom has a recipe that we normally use that is very "fresh" tasting and good. But I was hoping to also have another recipe to try--something that is thicker and has a bolder flavor, similar to what I buy at the store. I think the difference is the use of heat in preparation. For my mom's recipe, we chop everything up, add seasonings and a little vinegar, put it in the jars and can. I think the bolder salsa maybe is cooked for a bit before canning? Does anyone know or have a recipe?
