Question Potted Tea Roses

I need some help. I received two really pretty tea roses for my birthday. They are in pots from the grocery store. I live in an apartment and cannot plant them outdoors. Does anyone have any tips on how to take care of them.

Both my MIL and myself bought some a couple of weeks ago. The first one she bought died right away and she was able to exchange it for another one. That one also died just a few days later. She asked at the store and the lady told her that if she got another one it would probably die too. She did tell her that if she planted it she would have to dig it up every year(but that's Ohio). I know you said you can't plant yours. She kept them inside in full sun but no luck. The one I got at Lowes didn't live very long either. I put it outside during the day but it didn't help. I'm sorry I'm not any help. I would love to hear suggestions if anybody has any!

Shannon

This is a bummer to me because I was going to ask for one for Mothers Day. I already kill every plant in my path so I dont need the help of a fast dying one too.....LOL!!

Any good plant ideas that grow well indoors other than spider plants?

I still have my tea roses from 3 years ago. They are brought inside in the winter and I leave them on the deck in the summer. I just transplant them every year. They are doing fine and I suspect you can leave them indoors.

Philodenrons groww faster and better than spider plants. You can even grow cutting in water.

I have a philedron (sp) that I have had 18 years. His name is Phil. He spends the winters and colder days/nights inside, but during the summer he loves outdoors...

Wow Caron, I am impressed! How have you managed to keep Phil "alive & kicking" for so long? I've never had a plant live longer than 5-7 days in my care no matter how hard I try to care for it and give it TLC. Both my maternal grandmother and my mother are green thumbs beyond belief. I guess it skipped over me! I've even manged to kill English Ivy!

well I talk to Phil, he's a good listener. I've changed his diapers (re=potted) him a few times. Even split him twice to give friends. I give him miracle grow too. I haven't repotted him in 2 years. I think it's time. He looks a little under the weather. LOL
