Will you be planting any new flowers this spring?

Every year when spring rolls around I start wishing that I had a green thumb. I love to watch the flowers pop up in all their beautiful colors! I would love to plant flowers ..even in pots..but I always manage to kill them. lol!

Will you be planting anything this spring?

I can't wait for the flowers and trees to start blooming! I love to photograph them, too!

I hope that you will take pics of them! Are they blue?

My Mom planted tulips at our house when we were growing up. My sister and I couldn't wait until spring each year to see what color the tulips would come up in for that year. I loved the variegated tulips with the jagged leaves - no idea what they are called. Some years they would be pink, white and yellow..other years they were red, white, purple...so neat! I also remember that some had a pepper scent to them, which fascinates me to this day.

I have to ask...do the blueberry tulips smell like blueberries? (don't laugh too hard at this..hahaha)

I will be planting from seed, marigolds. Although they are one of my least favorites, they do so well for me.
I also have my roses, which I can't wait for them to start sprouting new leaves. I am all ready with rose food and pesticide to take care of the nasty critters that eat all the leaves.

I want to buy another Dwarf Lilac Tree...the one I bought last year bloomed...dark purple lilacs and they smelled so nice...

Coll I can't grow roses here...don't know if it is just the soil type or the weather but they won't grow for me...

Every spring I regret not putting more bulbs in in the fall!

Today I trimmed out the tree rose which stands potted by the front door. It spends the winter in the garage. I hope it blooms as nicely as it did last year. I read on another post about being vigorous with trimmming roses, so I hope it will work on this one.

Since I am not able to get down on ground and play in the dirt. My plantings have to be in pots. Don't have any way to have a raised bed or would. I miss having a veggie garden too.

My DH transplanted some plants for me last week. They had come up in a huge pot sitting next to a spectacular dark orangey red lantana. He asked me where I wanted them, as he thought they looked like the lantana. I took a look and agreed, and he planted them in the front by the sidewalk, between two Mexican petunias. Afterward, he commented, "I am wondering if they are potatoes." I took a closer look, and yep, I think we are the only people on the street with potato plants in their front yard. Our HOA would hyperventilate if they knew!

I had to laugh about the potatos planted in the front yard. LOL

I will be planting petunias and also marigolds from seeds I collected in the fall.

I also colleted some seeds from some wildflowers I had planted last year from a seed packet.

I have a lot of lilies and day lilies plus peonies that come up every year. My bee balm, cone flowers, black eyed susans and tulips come up every year also.

I have lemon balm, sage, chives, garlic chives and oregano for herbs.
