When I do Scissor exercises (that is stretching my legs in cross) I notice my upper legs and hips are more flexible, and shapely. Since we have temporarily moved into a hotel, I use the pool to help reduce the stress of this exercise so I motion more, also - I enjoy the swim area during the week evenings when children aren't around (pool = 3' - 4' to 3' and a small hot-tubish pool).. however, when I don't have access to a pool, the floor works great! Lie on a side and do 3, 5, 10 reps each side, and if you can lay on your back, do another 3, 5, or 10 reps there. I usually get the side scissors done. My G.P.s and well-ness nurse always tell me to get out and walk (similar movement), or if I have an elliptical machine (most gyms do) available - that works too.
