Against many of my other family member's advice, I'm seriously considering buying a trampoline for our backyard (it's the first backyard I have every had with space in it). Trampolines don't seem to be that expensive and I've been reading about how many calories you can burn - how they are actually low impact on joints, and that they do something positive to your lymphatic system (something with the bouncing?).

My son got to play on a neighbor's trampoline that was enclosed. He loved it, it seemed safe, and he actually went to bed early that night, so I'm sort of sold. Are there any recommendations or warnings anyone has about trampolines? I think this will be good for my wife and I too - to shed some weight. This site does trampoline reviews and I'm thinking about an enclosed one since my son is only 3.

I love to lightly bounce around on the trampolin these days, been known to do a tumble or two many yrs back, but if you're not careful it can do your knees in. I'm still in my 40 somethings .... just lol

My gym closed down, I was going 3 times per week and a p/t once per fortnight. My same trainer started on her own business and I went with her. I go once per week now and I must say I do love that being pushed to do something just to prove I can do it! Dumbells 9kg in each hand (18kg tot), bench presses, purpees, mens push ups etc ... I've found I love the challenge!

For the last year, I've been working with a heavy bag I bought. I found a good place to hang it in the garage, and it's amazing for cardio and muscle building. My wife has no interest in it, and my son is far to small to hit it. We have a little indoor kiddy trampoline right now, and he loves it, but he has already outgrown it. I'm hoping a bigger one will wear him out and dissipate some of that nervous energy.

I actually sleep much better after a work out, like your son there is always energy to go some where lol. I have 2 boys now 25 and 21 and they got into all sorts of sports and outdoor scrapes, I must say I'm also a bit of a tomboy so loved doing that stuff with them. My hubby not so much a sporting person got to do scoring and team management and some backyard fun.
