Hi, I am kinda new around here, but when I saw this, I just had to post. I just started using "winsor pilates". I bought these off of the internet and I really like them. I have a 20 minute version plus an advanced one that goes for 50 min! I havent gotten there yet! But the 20 minutes really make me feel like I have had a whole workout. PLUS I don't feel like my muscles are starting to bulge. I am only 5'3" and when I have used weights and things in the past, I felt like I was just making myself look bulkier cause I am so short. Just wish I could keep up the motivation!

Barbara,
Mine isn't the 'reformer' but the preformer'. It's similar to the machine Chuck Norris uses on the tv commercials except this one is designed to make the body look longer and leaner.,,not bulky. I bought mine from QVC. It gives every part of the body a workout. It comes with a poster size exercise chart and a video that shows each exercise.

I bought the Winsor Pilates from a infomercial about 2 months ago. They do have a website also. I love them. I can see a difference and far better my friends say I look more toned. Also you can print out pilates from oxygen.com. I prefer a video because I stay on track. One day i'll do the 20 minute workout and the next day I do the 50 minute workout. I think I paid $59 for the set. It also comes with a book and some menu ideas.

Yoga is postures. Pilates is a series of exercises that focuses on your power house. That band around your middle. Also works all the small muscles in your body so you get a longer leaner look.
Oxygen.com has pilates you can print out also check out Winsor Pilates. They have a site online too. I bought a video that was a mix of yoga and pilates and found it very difficult.

LOL you might want to psych yourself up like I did. After 20 times you notice a difference and after 30 times everyone else does. I can see changes. I've also changed the way I eat. I cut out all red meat and am not eating white foods. If I eat a slice of bread......it's 7 grain. Juices have more calories than fruit.
I am enjoying the challenge now of getting through the 50 minutes. Also have started walking alot. Getting old is not fun.
We seem to shrink to the middle and this is why I think Pilates targeting that area is so beneficial.

I have to say I just went to oxygen.com and found the pilates page. I did the first 5 or 6 exercises to the best of my sorry ability and I already feel as though I walk taller. I'm sold on this. I will add this to the walking I keep thinking about. I do feel different right now, feel the juices running through my body a warmth actually, no, I'm not sweating. I'll print the exercises out in the am. everyone is sleeping here right now. I dont want to wake them. Thanks for the heads up on pilates. I love it!
