When my DD, the youngest, left home, and chose not to go to college, I started college! I now have an AA degree, BA degree, and I am close to getting my MA degree. I've been busy since my kids left the nest!

I have 2 out already. 1 more going this fall to college. That will leave me 1 more home for about 2 yrs.

Dh is planning on moving down south in the next 5 to 10 yrs, maybe soon if he can get a job. I won't mind leaving the PA winters.
Have a wonderful day.

Hubby and I plan on doing some travelling.....we have money set aside for the kids and our house is paid for so we have decided it will be time for us to enjoy ourselves......

We will be empty nesters before we know it. Like Charlotte, I have two gone with a third planning on moving out this summer. My baby will be a Sr. in high schoool next year and is planning, at this time, to attend a college far enough away from home that she will be moving too.
I am not sad about this change as I feel that the goal of a parent is to see their children grow up and become responsible for themselves. I also know my kids will be back at every opportunity to visit and get a free homemade meal at home.
Dh and I look forward to visiting our children and spending time with them as adults. We will probably take a few short trips also. Maybe I will be lucky enough to visit places close to some of my FC friends and will have time for a "Hello".

I had to laugh about this thread, just two days ago dh and I talked about tearing out the old garage and putting a 3 bay with an extra room or two above it. It would come off the living room and be a 3rd level to our split level (basement, bedrooms, garage addition). Then just last night my dd2 asked if she could live with us after college and we said, of course (!), we are thinking of a sun room over the garage. It's been my dream to have an attic, my dh and I are real homebodies, and the kitchen will still be the center of the house. We really need a new kitchen but more room to ramble and do projects in sounds even better to me. Nothing will change for us if the plan goes this way!

Leave the nest? Ha! I have heard that has happened in some families! lol
We all get heavier as we get older,
because there's a lot more information in our heads.

Won't be to long until ds1 goes I know but not really thought about what we will do with his room and we will still have ds2 ... when he goes we would like to travel but not sure where yet.
We own the house so we might just save and do trips as we have enough money for

All our kids are grown and living on their own...

When my son moved out and later got married, all he kept saying to hubby was "Watch my mom,she is going to be crying alot"...Ha Ha...Not me...it took me 2 days to clean out his room and its now my computer/craft room...

We were hoping to do some travelling last summer but hubby had his accident and me fighting cancer again put everything on hold...but hopefully I will be able to make one more trip to see my girls and grandkids...if not they can make the trip here...

Smiles & Hugs...

I am planning on spending all of my time with my husband camping, fishing, hiking, and just looking into those beautiful baby blues. I miss getting lost in time with just him and I!
