I'm doin the happy dance!!!

Ok girls, ya know I'm an empty nester right? Well my chickens are off at college, 1 & 3 hours away from me. I saw the girls during spring break but my son had to work and didn't get to come home. Haven't seen him since Easter. Well, tomorrow I'm driving the 3 hours (picking up 1 along the way) and we're gonna "do lunch". I'm soooooo excited to see 'em I can't tell ya. The "purpose" for the trip is to help dd bring home some of her stuff as her car is too small to make 1 trip moving home. Sooooooo, I'm going to see my kids

Hi PrairieRose,

I am sure hoping that you will have a wonderful time!

It will be my turn to have an empty nest before too long! My DS is living at home right now and going to school, he's 20. But, I know he has other plans when school is finished. He will always be my baby and I can imagine it will be very difficult to let him go. I am preparing myself now!

My DD is 17, so I don't have too long with her either. Where has the time gone?! I can still see them in my mind as babies!

Have fun!
Jenna

looking at the empty nest

OH Jenna,

Those are the ages of my kiddos...only mine are both boys. I do agree, the time has sped past. #2son is eager to "get on with life" I know it's the natural course of things, but what does one do with this "mama's heart"?

A friend and I drove 4 1/2 hours to see her college DS baseball game (he was a Freshman and NEVER got to play.) We got lost and arrived for the LAST hit of the double-header (sp) game. She said "hi" to him as he got on the bus and we turned around and headed home.

Aaahhhh....I would have cried!

Oh that would be soooooo sad. No doubt the poor woman wanted to see her son and his game......what a huge disappointment. It's amazing what you'll do to get your hands on these grown kids! I had a wonderful afternoon with mine. We all had lunch (Olive Garden), lots of chatter and laughter and a very good time overall. On the way home I even got to do a little frugal shopping at a JC Penny Outlet store. I bought a Xmas gift for my mom, 6 works shorts for dh, some new window curtains for dm, 1 new shirt for me and new pillows for the bedroom re-do. I spent some money but I saved a lot too. Aaaaaaahhhhhh, today was a GOOD day
