When does school start

Getting prepared for our school to start so I was wondering when other school across this nation would be starting too. Therefore
when does school start in your area?

My gd's will be going back to school Aug 27th but on Aug 23rd we have met the teachers.

In the past we always had met the teachers after school started but this yr it going to be different and I just love how it will be this yr.

Our district tosses the start date around every year. The college starts before Labor Day and so the school district tried that last year but it stunk because we also have the Grange Fair and Encampment that week. Too many of the kids even the freshman missed their first day of school because they were either showing animals at the fair, or were in the bandshell playing, or some other reason.

Thankfully the district decided to start the day after Labor Day this year, September 4. I am glad because that means we won't have to compete with the college students for back to school at WalMart and how busy the roads get in town. I think the school board made a very wise decision on this.

My son starts Aug 27 but we don't get to meet his teacher until the day before during open house, on the 26.

Our school begins on September 4th. We go to get acquainted with the teachers and pay fees on August 31.

My kids usually start school around this next week of August 6th. But this year the school district change it to start back August 20th. We meet the teachers on August 17th. Since school is starting later they will get out of school later too. Usually they get out May 23 but, this school year they will get out in June.
