DR. SEUSS'S Birthday

Did your kids do anything to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday today?

My son's school had a contest for silly hats in grades 1-3.

Each grade was awarded 4 awards:

Most creative

Funniest

Most Unusual

Prettiest

My son won first place in 1st grade for most unusual hat!

We had a blast making this hat. I'll post a picture later on.

The judges were the ladies from our local Red Hat Society. They read "The Cat in the Hat" to them and gave out the awards.

The kids read more Dr. Seuss books and did puzzles and coloring pages too.

Did anyone else celebrate today?

My son's school makes a big deal out of Dr. Seuss's B'day every year. It is so neat because it is my son's B'day too!

They have pajama day and have many guest readers come in and read to the children. They have green eggs and ham for lunch and b'day cake for dessert. All the teachers wear the Cat in the Hat "hat". DS really looks forward to this every year and it makes his b'day special too.
