Lightbulb Recycle your kids' clothes- give them to school

Yesterday, my kindergartner came home with a different shirt on than when he'd left the house! I learned that he'd fallen in mud on the playground and had gotten his own shirt pretty dirty. He was sent to the nurse's office, and she gave him a replacement shirt to wear. It was WAY too big, but it was the only clean thing she had.

Today, I washed the shirt the nurse sent him home in so we can return it tomorrow. Then I hit upon an idea and called her. I told her I'm planning to go through the boys' closets over the next week and asked if she'd like me to send a few outfits to school for little ones who have accidents and such. She was SO grateful because it happens a lot more than people think, and parents and relatives can't always run right over to school to give Johnny and Susie replacement shorts and stuff.

So, there you go, my frugal and environmentally-friendly tip of the day.

the schools here try to keep some clothe around for times when kids have accidents though it is mainly the lower grade schools. They are always happy for donates as some of the kids have very few clothes & for back-ups.
