Simple Healthy Snacking On-The-Go!

I am expecting my first child and am always looking for ways to ensure I'm eating the right things. Even before I discovered my husband and I were expecting I enjoyed finding and trying new healthy snacks. My doctor helped me with this list. I later found out (he shared with me) that it's based of a similar list on a pregnancy site that has a ton of great advice for eating healthy. This is a small and simple list of yummy snacks that are healthy, easy, on-the-go. Enjoy!
  • Small apple with 1 ounce of low-fat string cheese or 1 Tbsp. of peanut butter
  • Half of a whole-wheat pita pocket, half of a banana, and 1 Tbsp. of peanut butter
  • Baby carrots, red pepper strips, and celery with 1/4 cup of Greek-style hummus dip
  • 1 ounce of low-fat tortilla chips, 1 ounce of low-fat cheese, and 2 Tbsp. of picante salsa
  • 4 ounces of low-fat fruit yogurt and 2 snack-size raisin boxes
  • 1 ounce of honey-wheat pretzels and 1/2 ounce of dry-roasted peanuts
  • 4 ounces of mixed fruit and 4 ounces of vanilla low-fat yogurt
  • 2 graham cracker squares and 1 Tbsp. of peanut butter
  • Mini oat-bran bagel, 1 Tbsp. of low-fat cream cheese, and 1/2 cup of fruit
  • 1/4 cup of dried fruit, 1/2 cup of cereal squares, and 1/2 ounce of peanuts

I forgot to mention that individually these snacks are too small to get the job done so I'll either double the recipe or have multiple different ones.

Congrats on the upcoming new baby.. it's been a really long time on here since we've had anyone expecting a new baby so hope you hang out with us through the whole pregnancy and let us know how it goes.

Another thing I try to keep on hand for on the go is banana's. I am diabetic and I often do not want to sit down and eat breakfast but a banana is packed full of good stuff and filling till lunch time. Small glass of milk is good with that sometimes too.

Thank you! We're definitely excited. I'd expect to hang around through it.

I really enjoy bananas! I love eating fruit throughout the day. Have you ever tried dried banana chips? I've never brought myself to try them. Haha.
