Ok i am the odd one.I drink diet pop but i get very bad headaches if i don't have a small amount of it.I also have it in a glass.But i used to drink alot more of it.Like every time my dh would stop to get somethingto drink just grab a diet pepsi or coke.So i am guessing that makes me odd.I did try to have the coke classic and the sugar in it was so high i couldn't drink it.

Abby01, my dh has weened himself off of Coke--mostly. I'm not too sure why he started, but I think it was the high caloric intake. He started to drink club soda instead. I think it is gross, but if I mix it with juice, it is okay. That way you still get the fizz, without all the sugar.

As for actual junk foo, well, I will battle with that until I die! I love chips, cookies, chocolate, popcorn, ice cream, etc, etc, etc,. I do try to limit how much is in my house at one time. I've also tried to buy the cases of lunch box chip bags, that way when I'm done the bag, that is it, no more. It is better than eating a full huge bag, which I will do if it is opened. As for chocolate, I stock up on the little Halloween bars and it works for portion control. You can freeze these so they're not as easy to get to.

There is a thing called Food Addiction. There is a program called Food Addicts Anonymous. The website is down right now, but if you email me, I can send you an email with the phone meetings. Food is a powerful drug, and as so many have replied here, it is a very real condition. I struggle on a daily basis with it. Years ago I asked my dr if you could be addicted to sugar, and she laughed at me. Today there is documentation that shows it is a very real thing. We have a serious issue in this country with health and disease. Diabetes and obesity is at an all time high.
There is hope out there though,and if I can do anything to help, please let me know...

Try cutting back 1 can of pop every day for a week for example if you are drinking 6 cans only drink 5 the first week. Then week 2 only drink 4 cans, etc. until you wean yourself off. Replace it with a glass of water. By doing this you wont feel deprived nor will you go through caffine withdrawal. You should also see a drop in weight as long as you replace the drink with something no or low calorie.

I've lost 10 lbs in the past 2 months but had to go with a pill to jump start my body. I have been working out 3-4 times a week for 30 min each since last July and watching what I was eating and cut pop down to only 1-2 cans a week. Nothing was happening until I started taking a diet pill, I only take 1-2 a day instead of the 3 suggested as the evening pill was affecting my sleep.

I too am addicted to Coke. I weaned myself to 1 a day in summer (water or sweet tea rest of time) in winter I try to stay under 3 a day. Calories are too high though. Diet pop is horrible to me. If I'm stressed I need Coke and it relieves heartburn as well for me. Pepsi does not work and neither does pills.

I think mine is a general carbohydrate addiction, sugar, potatoes, rice, flour based products. We don't eat a lot of take out dinners or meals.
I do drink diet coke but it's a weekend thing but I also drink tea and coffee. I don't drink more than 3 caffienne type drinks in a day and never after 7.30pm or I get anstsy in bed and can't go to sleep.
Sugar and flour is a hard one I love my sweets and buns and biscuits but I make more of my own and sub half and half whole meal flour if possible and half and half of splenda and sugar.
I am doing better at this and surprisingly just cutting out biscuits/cookies at one or 2 of your drink times can cut the kilos.

For me i still drink the pop.Aslo been trying to cut back on the junk food i eat and i try to limit how much choclate i eat too.I aslo have been not eating the ice cream as much so that is a good thing right.?Now i am just trying to get myself back on track and only eat until 7:30 pm at nighttime.
