I don't like just plain water either but there are a couple different companies that make great flavors waters. I keep them in the frig or in a cooler so they are very cold.
We try hard not to do many soft drink since they are so hard on you. The deplete your calcium levels, can cause kidney stones, and have you ever seen what a bottle of Coke can do to a nail?
If I'm not mistaken and I could be but seems to me like it was the syrup from Coke that has to be transported in a hazard tanker when they are transporting it.
Sort of like the margerine/butter issue since margerine is not too far from being plastic. Really.
I do like tea including herbals.
Things like lemonade are also healthier choices and refreshing... try homemade lemonade with a sprig of mint....over ice.
Very good!
Or a really good citrus drink is... equal oranges, lemons and limes made like lemonade.
Now I'm thirsty.

Pag36, I have tried the lemon juice, but still find it too gross. Would it count as drinking water if I made lemon-aid instead? I cannot have sugar, so I would put Stevia in it instead. The thing about it is I HAVE to force the water down my once a week when I take my Fosamax. Otherwise, I love juices and teas. That's the only way I get my water down.

Well, I am a little slow!
I started this thread a year ago and only decided to do somthing about my horrible eating habits a month ago!
So far so good. I have cut out my treats, added exercise and next I will be working on my soda..............
I figure that starting to take care of myself now, is better now than never!!
I have lost 2 pounds on my way to 30. Slowly, but it was slowly I gained them

I'm right there with you Donna! With school starting I am walking the boys to school instead of driving them. My legs and arms are really sore since i have been so sedentary this summer. That should go away soon though.

It was so hot here over the summer I lost all motivation to do anything that remotely resembled exercise and I know I have gained a lot of weight back. I refuse to weigh myself, I just don't want to know. I'll just wait until I feel better then I will hop on and brave the numbers But right now I am just too scared to!

That's ok hon, write all the books you want! LOL

I did good this week, I walked the kids to school each morning. I cant walk them home yet, it's still too hot. It was 109 on Thursday. So for now, I'll pick them up in the car LOL But once it cools off and is behaving like Autumn around here I will start walking them home in the afternoon.

I can't seem to keep my hand out of the cookie jar though!

Oh I know what you mean about the cookie jar lol. The last few days I have been BAD but due to lots of things like not being able to cook (power outage) and busy otherwise so just snacked. I am hoping that once school starts back (Tuesday) I will be able to walk down and meet Steven (Gina will do it in mornings) but have a hard time walking without something to lean on (like shopping cart lol) so will have to wait and see. But with Gina and I "living" in Wal-Mart, Lowes, & and Home Depot I do get a fair amount of walking in. So hope with that and trying to eat right notice I said TRYING. Bye for now friends

Well I don't know if I am losing anything, but I'm starting to feel better. I even walked yesterday (not a school day LOL), so hopefully I'll keep going and get some of this excess off. I don't want to look like I did in high school, I just want to be healthier and get rid of some of this excess baggage. :-P
